WRITERS & DIRECTORS
STACY TITLE & JONATHAN PENNER
Both passion and play describe the work and life of married couple Stacy Title and Jonathan Penner. Four feature films, numerous TV pilots and an Oscar-nominated short are among their accomplishments.
Raised in NY, Stacy closely watched her father as he produced countless television commercials with directors like Ridley Scott and Michael Cimino, she always dreamt of directing herself. After graduating from Brown University magna cum laude, Stacy began her career as a journalist, writing and editing over a hundred articles for numerous New York publications. She began writing screenplays during her free time, was quick to find an agent and, subsequently, work. Then she met Jonathan. Raised in New York and New England, Jonathan lived for monsters and the movies. After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College, he started a career as an actor and has performed in films, sitcoms, dramas, and soaps, in addition to being a contestant for three seasons on Survivor.
Soon after Stacy and Jonathan met and fell in love, they began writing and producing together, which turned out to be a collaboration made in heaven.
Their Oscar-nominated short, Down on the Waterfront led to The Last Supper, Let the Devil Wear Black, Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror and The Bye Bye Man, followed by over 15 pilots produced for the WB and written for ABC, CBS, NBC, Showtime, the CW, AMC, Lifetime, and MTV among others.
Currently they are in development on the television series King Kong: Skull Island for IM Global and MarVista Entertainment, and the feature films: Hex, a horror thriller for Sean Daniels and Constellation, Tita, a female-led action film for Storyscape, as well as Dede and Sam, an animated short with Poston in Chile.
